The 2008 US Disc Dog Southern Nationals is an action-packed event which will be held at a new and exciting event location, the Atlanta Steeplechase – Kingston Downs in Kingston, GA (between Cartersville, and Rome on Hwy 411). In the past 17 years the Southern Nationals has always been a crowd pleaser during the Atlanta Dogwood Festival with a dynamic, revolving crowd of up to 15,000 spectators! Due to the Atlanta Mayor’s office invoking a new 18 month Drought Policy on such short notice, the drought policy bans all “Class A” festivals from downtown parks. The Disc Dog Southern Nationals, as well as, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival have both had to seek new venues. WOOF! Sports USA and GADDC have secured the Atlanta Steeplechase as the 2008 event site. The Atlanta Steeplechase is one of the most prestigious Equestrian events in the South and they are excited to add one of the most prestigious dog sporting events in the South to their event.
The Disc Dog Southern Nationals will offer two Qualifying Divisions in a one day format, both Super-Open Freestyle and Super-Pro Toss & Fetch will be held on Saturday April 12, 2008. There will not be any other divisions offered at this late date. However, both divisions will be open to anyone that wants to compete.
